Farm Credit Hires Morris as Lending & Credit Trainee in Bedford

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland, announced Logan Morris joined the association full-time as a Lending & Credit Trainee at the Bedford branch in June.

Morris was raised in Cumberland, VA, where his family managed a small beef cattle operation. Morris attended Virginia Tech and graduated with an associate’s degree from the Agricultural Technology Program. Following graduation, Morris returned to Virginia Tech to complete his bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, which led him to his career at Farm Credit. While in school, Morris worked for Virginia Tech Crop Production to grow his knowledge of crops and acquire his Commercial Driver’s License.

Morris is eager to dive into his role and shared, “As a new employee at Farm Credit I am excited to use my background in agricultural commodities and skills as a lending trainee to help the Bedford Ag Community grow. I look forward to helping Bedford with their lending needs!”

Joey Cornwell, Regional Lending Manager, said “Logan has a broad education and work experience in agriculture, so we’re confident he will relate well to our full- and part-time farmers and rural resident customers. Over the next year, Logan will learn all aspects of the Loan Officer position and the entire loan process from application to closing which will prepare him to provide our member-owners with excellent service and support for many years to come.”

When Morris is not working at Farm Credit, he enjoys being outside working on the farm or spending time in the shop fixing equipment and woodworking. Morris also enjoys spending time relaxing, hiking, biking and traveling.
