Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a regional financial cooperative serving agriculture and rural communities in Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland, has announced that long-time Customer Service Representative Barbara Davis has retired from the organization effective April 30th, after 41 years.
Davis has been with FCV and its’ predecessor organizations since 1978. Davis joined the association after completing her studies at West Virginia Business College. During her tenure at Farm Credit, Davis’ role in customer service evolved with the advancement of technology and loan processing, although her objectives remained the same, helping her customers reach their goals and simplifying the process.
Davis said, “What I loved most about working for Farm Credit was my customers. During my tenure I was able to impact the lives of so many farmers and homeowners. I really cherished seeing a loan from start to finish. From when a new customer would step through our doors to submit a loan application, to the closing of that loan down the road, I enjoyed the process, growth, and lasting impact our organization can provide a customer.”
Reminiscing on her 41 years at FCV, Davis continued, “I have thoroughly enjoyed the people I’ve worked alongside. Farm Credit really is a great organization to work for, full of great people.”
Lacey Radabaugh, Clarksburg Branch Manager, shared, “When I first started working for Farm Credit, Barbara welcomed me with open arms. She was dependable, positive, and encouraging. Barbara will be greatly missed.”
“It was always a pleasure to visit the Clarksburg Branch and catch up with Barbara” said F.J. Grady, Regional Lending Manager. “She always has a smile on her face and a very caring attitude toward everyone she greets. It is employees like Barbara that make Farm Credit such a great place to work.”
Currently, Davis and her husband run a small feeder-calf operation in West Virginia. Davis looks forward to traveling more in her retirement. She has a few upcoming camping trips in mind and is planning a cruise to Alaska.
