Farm Credit Welcomes Rabon to Roanoke Branch

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV) recently announced that Sidney Rabon will join the FCV team as a Regional Sales and Lending Manager out of the Roanoke office. Rabon joins the organization with extensive working knowledge of the banking/finance industry.

Rabon was raised in Morehead City, NC. He is a graduate of East Carolina University.

Although Rabon doesn’t come from an agricultural background, he has worked in the finance industry for more than 26 years. During his tenure, Rabon worked directly with row-crop farmers, poultry and swine growers, timbermen and lumber yards, as wells as agricultural equipment dealers, equipping him with the expertise to serve our customer-owners well. Most recently, Rabon worked for First Citizens Bank in Elizabeth, NC as a Market Executive.

Community involvement is a cornerstone for Rabon, evident by his resume of organizational membership and activism. He served as the 2019-2019 Elizabeth City Rotary Club President. Additionally, Rabon is a past board member of the Albemarle Area United Way, Museum of the Albemarle, Elizabeth City Pasquotank County Committee of 100, and the River City CDC.

Although he is a self-proclaimed, “life-long flatlander,” Rabon, his wife, and two daughters have always enjoyed the beautiful mountains of VA and NC. He shared, “We have owned a cabin in the area for about nine years and it was our love for the area that led me to look for this opportunity which will allow my wife and I to live here permanently. Farm Credit of the Virginias has a wonderful history and compelling story to tell our customer-owners and prospects.”

In response to what he looks forward to bringing to the FCV team, Rabon shared, “I am excited to bring my love of the area and respect for the men and women who work in agriculture. I’m looking forward to working with good people who make up the Virginia South team in Roanoke, Lexington and Lewisburg.”

Mike Jonas, Division Lending Leader, shared, “Sidney brings a great amount of lending and business development knowledge to our team. We look forward to leveraging his abilities to grow our staff.”
