Gray Retires from Farm Credit Board of Directors

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a regional financial cooperative serving agriculture and rural communities in Virginia, West Virginia and Maryland, has announced that Washington County, VA resident and local leader Bobby C. Gray has retired from the organization’s board of directors after seven years of service.

“We appreciate Bobby’s years of service and his support and promotion of Farm Credit’s mission and vision. During his years as a Director, Bobby brought forward intuitive ideas and insights based on his strong agricultural background as our Board worked to set effective strategies to continue serving our customer-owners,” said CEO Peery Heldreth.

Regarding his time on the board, Gray shared, “It was a pleasure and an honor to serve on the Farm Credit board and help our local farmers and homeowners achieve their goals. Over my years on the board, we’ve helped lead Farm Credit to great success, including making our services more available in southwest Virginia through turbulent times for agriculture. That’s a great accomplishment.”

Gray currently owns and manages a 1,400 acre grain, hay and 2,000 head cattle stocker operation in Washington County, Virginia. Although originally from Maryland, Gray has been farming in Virginia since 1970. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 26 years, and is currently a member of the advisory board of the Washington County school system.
