Farm Credit Welcomes Wheeler as Knowledge Center Intern

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Madison Wheeler has joined the Association as an intern for the Farm Credit Knowledge Center. She is based at the Verona Operations Center, though she will spend time visiting branches and customer-owners throughout the footprint, as well as shadowing other departments.

Originally from Mount Solon, Va., Wheeler resides in Knoxville, Tenn. while attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT). She is a rising senior, majoring in Agriculture and Resource Economics and double minoring in Agricultural Communications and Entrepreneurship. She grew up showing and judging livestock from a young age and was active in both 4-H and FFA throughout her middle and high school years. As a student at UT, Wheeler is a member of the National Agri-Marketing Association’s Agri-Marketing team, Block and Bridle, and the Ag Business Club.

Wheeler is eager to bring her background in and knowledge of agriculture to her internship. She shared, “I am excited to help support the future of the agriculture industry, have the opportunity to work directly with agricultural professionals, and strengthen my knowledge of finance and ag lending with Farm Credit.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome Madison to the Farm Credit Knowledge Center team this summer. In just a short time, she has already demonstrated exceptional initiative, strong organizational skills and a deep sense of integrity in her work,” shared her mentor, Marie Rothwell, Knowledge Center digital content strategy senior specialist. “Her contributions will make a positive impact to the customers we serve, and we’re excited to see all that she will accomplish during her internship.”

In her spare time, Wheeler enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and watching or attending all of the Tennessee Volunteers sports she can.
