Briefly describe your involvement in 4-H. I am currently a 4-H club leader. I began volunteering several years ago and enjoy teaching the kids in my club about agriculture. It's a pleasure to watch them grow and learn.
Briefly describe your involvement in FFA. I was an active FFA member for all of middle school and high school. I served as the Northern Area Federation President and President of my high school chapter my senior year. Leading up to my senior year, I served in various officer positions and participated in many contests.
Briefly describe your involvement in agriculture. My father and grandfather are full-time beef cattle farmers, so I grew up around agriculture. In 2021, my husband and I purchased the farm across the road from my grandfather and started our own farming operation. We raise beef cattle and sheep and love having the opportunity to raise livestock with family.
Are you involved in any other clubs or organizations?  I am Farm Bureau member and a member of Mt. Horeb Presbyterian Church.
Has anyone in particular in your family had a significant impact on you? My grandparents have had a profound impact on my life. My Grandaddy has taught me the importance of hard work and loving what you do. He is tough as nails when he needs to be but has a special tenderness for land, livestock, and his grandchildren. My Grammy has taught me an innumerable amount of life lessons and how to navigate the world with grace and style. I wouldn't be who I am without their influence.
Where did you grow up? I grew up on my family's farm outside of New Hope in Augusta County. In 2019 our farm was recognized as a Virginia Century Farm.
What is your favorite personal mantra or motto? Live your life with a grateful heart.
What is your favorite movie, or quote from a movie? My favorite movie is Steel Magnolias. Quote: "I would rather have 30 minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special." - Shelby, Steel Magnolias
What is your favorite food? Prime Rib cooked, medium rare, with horseradish sauce.
Tell us about your hobbies. I love an "old lady" hobby. Cooking, canning, crocheting, hand embroidery, needle point, sewing, gardening, you name it. My favorite right now is probably baking sourdough bread, cooking, and gardening.
Have you ever collected anything? I am an avid antique collector. An online auction or antique mall hate to see me coming!
What was your dream job as a child? To be Martha Stewart.
What is the most interesting or favorite aspect of your job? No two days are the same and no two loan requests are the same. I like working through scenarios and analyzing financials because they're always different and new.
What would you sing at Karaoke night? Fist City by Loretta Lynn
If you could meet a famous person, dead or alive, who would it be and why? I would want to meet Queen Elizabeth II and hear her opinion of all the celebrities, dignitaries, and other royals she encountered over her 70 year reign.
