Farm Credit Welcomes Brown as Employee Experience Specialist
Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Gabrielle Brown has joined the Association as an employee experience specialist in the human resources (HR) department. She is based in the Association’s headquarters office in Staunton, Va.
Originally from Charlotte, N.C., Brown currently resides in Lexington, Va. She received her bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and later received her master’s degree in Human Resources and Business Management from the University of Tennessee.
Prior to joining Farm Credit, Brown served in a variety of HR related roles, including starting her own company to help businesses of different sizes solve their HR challenges with strategic solutions. Her diverse background includes work in the healthcare and sports industries, as well, though she is excited to learn more about agriculture in her new role. Regarding her new role, Brown shared, “I have a deep appreciation for agriculture and the many ways it sustains us, and I have a great desire to learn more about it, as well as the customer-owners we serve. I believe in being a student in life always, and I am really glad to have the opportunity to do that in this role. I also am thrilled to join an incredible HR team and learn from them. I look forward to helping create policies, procedures and initiatives that infuse FCV’s core values naturally. The culture here is infectious, and I am so eager to contribute in any way I can.”
Melanie Craig, chief human resources officer, said, “Gabby comes to FCV with a HR consulting background, which gave her experience in many of the HR intricacies. She also had the opportunity to work previously with organizations to enhance the ways employees are seen, supported and empowered to grow. Gabby has the excitement, knowledge and drive to help FCV achieve organizational goals, enhance engagement and enable employees to adapt to the changing needs of agriculture and our rural communities.”
Outside of work, Brown enjoys spending time with her husband and their dogs, trying new restaurants, running, knitting and gardening. In the fall, she enjoys cheering on her husband at football games and watching football on Saturdays.
