Farm Credit Welcomes Harris as Loan Officer in Charlottesville
Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Olivia Harris has joined the Association as a loan officer in the Charlottesville branch office.
Originally from Pomeroy, Ohio, Harris now resides in Earlysville, Va. Though she did not grow up on a farm, many of her friends were from farming families, so she developed a passion for agriculture at a young age. She was very active in 4-H in her youth and involved in her local fair board. Her passion for agriculture led her to West Virginia University (WVU), where she double majored in animal and nutritional sciences as well as advertising and public relations. She also graduated with a minor in equine studies. During her time at WVU, she became a member of the Livestock Judging Team and Block and Bridle, where she helped organize various youth events related to agriculture.
Prior to joining FCV, Harris served as the social media manager for WVU’s equine department and worked as a farmhand, caring for the teaching horses that live on campus. She also spent a summer as the show secretary for the Mountaineer Open Horse Show Series, and served as a livestock operations intern at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo in January 2025.
Regarding her new role, Harris shared, “I am most excited to work to bring more young farmers into the agricultural community. I hope to show people that just because they did not grow up on a farm, it doesn’t mean that they cannot participate in this lifestyle. Agriculture is for anyone who wants to be a part of it!” She continued, “I also hope our members will know that I am just as excited about their farms and land as they are, and I will do everything I can to help them reach their dreams.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Olivia to our team. Her passion for agriculture and eagerness to learn will allow her to build strong relationships with our members and help them achieve their goals,” shared Stephanie Hensley, branch manager.
Outside of work, Harris enjoys gardening, volunteering at youth events and watching movies with her fiancé.
