Farm Credit Welcomes Newton as Loan Officer in Verona Branch
Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Linwood Newton has joined the Association as a loan officer in the Verona branch.
Originally from North Carolina, Newton moved to Virginia in 2013 and currently lives in Waynesboro with his family. Newton is a graduate of Liberty University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Finance.
Newton has a strong background in the finance industry, with more than 19 years of experience. Prior to joining Farm Credit, he served as the financial branch manager at a local financial services company. Regarding his new role, Newton shared, “I am excited about the opportunity to work within the rural community. I am especially looking forward to building strong relationships with borrowers, learning about their operations and becoming a trusted resource they can rely on.”

With 19 years of lending experience, he is a great addition to the team, and I am confident that he will offer great service to our customer-owners by working to advance our mission to be an engaged partner in agriculture and our rural communities.”
Outside of work, Newton is currently involved with the Waynesboro High School Band Boosters. He also enjoys hiking, playing and watching sports with his son, holding family game nights and spending time at the beach with his family.
