Farm Credit Welcomes Northen as Senior Associate Accountant
Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Philip Northen has joined the Association as a senior associate accountant, based in the headquarters location in Staunton, Va.
Originally from Danville, Va., Northen and his wife moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 2006. They currently reside in Harrisonburg, Va. Northen holds an associate degree in accounting from Blue Ridge Community College. Prior to joining FCV, Northen worked at Sheetz for 18 years and held a management role for 15 of those years.
Regarding his new role, Northen shared, “I am thrilled that I get to bring a fresh set of eyes to FCV’s finance department. Having spent most of my adult life in retail, I feel that I bring an outside perspective that can result in new ways of looking at things. I am excited to have a position with interesting work that also benefits our community.”
“We are glad to welcome Philip to the finance team here at FCV. He brings a fresh perspective and a wonderful willingness to learn to the role, which will benefit not only our department, but the Association as a whole,” shared Anita Parker, finance manager.
Outside of work, Northen plays a variety of instruments and enjoys making music whenever possible. He and his family attend Harrisonburg Baptist Church where he currently serves as the media ministry assistant, running sound for services as well as overseeing the audio and visual needs of the church.
