Farm Credit Welcomes Reames as Loan Officer in Culpeper
Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that Katie Reames has joined the lending team in Culpeper, primarily focusing on building relationships with larger agribusiness members.
Originally from Stephens City in Frederick County, Va., Reames now resides in Culpeper. She grew up involved with her neighbor’s dairy and produce farm. Reames and her family currently have a commercial cow/calf operation, and she also helps her son with his purebred Simmental and Hereford cattle that he shows. Reames has a bachelor’s degree in dairy science and a master’s degree in career and technical education, both from Virginia Tech. She also holds certifications in dairy, beef and equine from the American Society of Professional Animal Scientists. Additionally, Reames is a Class V Fellow of the Virginia Agriculture Leaders Obtaining Results (VALOR) program, a two-year professional development program for adults in agriculture.
Reames brings a diverse set of experiences to her new position with FCV. Prior to joining the team, Reames held several sales roles for local feed companies, taught math and agriculture in the public school system, and served in sales and marketing leadership roles with CFC Farm & Home Center.
Regarding her new role, Reames shared, “I am excited to leverage my agricultural experience to help continue to strengthen Farm Credit. I look forward to building strong relationships with our members and offering them creative and strategic solutions to help grow and sustain their businesses.”
“We are excited to welcome Katie to our team of lenders. Her passion for agriculture and established connections across Virginia make her a valuable addition as she supports our members to help them meet their goals,” shared Becky Ramsey, regional sales and lending manager.
Outside of work, Reames enjoys working on her family’s farm, showing cattle with her son, kayaking, hiking, clay shooting, golfing, running and participating in obstacle races. She is also involved with Farm Bureau, serves on Virginia Tech’s Dairy Science Advisory Council, Virginia FFA Foundation’s board and volunteers as a local 4-H leader.
