Special Assets Officer Retires After 20-Year Tenure at Farm Credit

Farm Credit of the Virginias (FCV), a regional lending cooperative that serves Virginia, West Virginia and western Maryland, announced that David Wise, special assets officer, will retire September 2, 2025, after 20 years with the Association.

Wise has called Parkersburg, W. Va. home the majority of his life, minus stints in Bridgeport, W. Va. and North Canton, Ohio. Prior to joining Farm Credit, Wise worked for Swedish Match, a tobacco manufacturing company. When he first joined the Association, Wise served as a loan officer in the Ripley branch, a position he held for 15 years. About five years ago, Wise transitioned to the special assets team, where he has the opportunity to help Farm Credit customer-owners through complex situations.

Reflecting on his time, Wise shared, “I have enjoyed the people I have been able to work with. I will miss the long-lasting connections and friendships I’ve made over my 20 years here at Farm Credit.”

Eric Roberts, special assets manager, shared, “David is a true professional and has helped a countless number of borrowers over the years get out of financial distress. He has been a tremendous asset to Farm Credit of the Virginias and its borrowers over the past 20 years. Personally, he has been a great friend and will be missed a great deal. I wish him the best with his retirement, which is well deserved!”

Upon retirement, Wise plans to play more golf and take more fishing trips.
