Location: Orange Branch
Tenure: 21+ years
Briefly describe your involvement in agriculture. I grew up on a large beef farm, but we also raised pigs.
Are you involved in any other clubs or organizations? Involved with local Chamber of Commerce and a previous board member
Tell us about your family. Family is everything to me! I grew up in a large family with 4 sisters. My parents believed that every Sunday was a day to get together even after we all moved away. My husband, of 32 years, and I have a similar belief. We have two wonderful children. Although they are grown, we still get together for church and family lunch every Sunday. Best day of the week!!
Tell us about your pets. I'm not a cat person. I have a dog, Josie. She is a silver German shepherd. She is the best!! I honestly do not think that she realizes that she is a dog and not a human. She has such a personality. It is so much fun watching her as she interacts with us in our daily routine.
What is your favorite season? Summer is my favorite season. I love the beach and would stay there all the time if possible.
Tell us about your hobbies. I like spending time with my family and friends, reading a good book, playing board games, and gardening (vegetable).
Do you collected anything? I collect black seashells from the beach. They are not that easy to find and I enjoy hunting for them each time we are there.
What was your first job? My first job was a drive-thru teller at a local bank. I worked every afternoon, half a day on Saturdays, and all full time in the summer. I loved it. The bank worked with me and I was able to continue to work there over the summer and Christmas breaks when I was home from college for the next four years.
What is the most interesting or favorite aspect of your job? I enjoy working with the borrowers and matching our products with their dreams. It is very fulfilling work with them during a transaction and see all the pieces come together so their dream is accomplished.
