So we realize we are well into summer, and far past the start of summer produce season… but it’s National Farmers Market Week! In case you have not taken advantage of a local farmer’s market in your area, we wanted to share some benefits of farmers markets:

  1. They help support local economies
  2. They help support local farmers
  3. They promote healthy communities
  4. They increase access to nutritious food
  5. They are a great way to learn more about agriculture and growing food
  6. They provide opportunities to try new and different produce
  7. They are so much more than just fruits and veggies!
  8. They are the epitome of “eat local”
  9. They are a great way to make a personal connection to the people who grow food
  10. They are fun to explore!
