Ag Literacy Week 2021

Virginia Ag Literacy Week is here!

Virginia Ag Literacy Week is organized by our friends at the Virginia Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) in which volunteers visit schools across the state to read a designated ag-related story and lead activities.

Although the initiative is coordinated by Virginia AITC, our participation and efforts extend throughout our footprint to include West Virginia and Maryland. 

In place of our annual Ag Literacy Week participation and classroom visits, we've created the following employee read-aloud to celebrate ag literacy and instill the story of ag. Check out the video below to join in on the fun!

In 2020, the association released a video paying homage to the 2020 Virginia AITC Agricultural Literacy Week book of the year, "PB&J Hooray!" by Janet Nolan.

Access Virginia AITC virtual tools and curriculum resources that can be done in class or at-home to support the farm-to-table concepts in the book.
